We asked some of our former students to report back about their college experience so far. Kate is our highlight for June! Here's what she has to say about her campus.
What do you like about NYU?
Some of the things I like about college include the flexibility in creating my own schedule, the resources on campus that I can use to help study and learn a new topic, I like living in an environment that I chose and being in control of all decisions regarding myself (it is a weird adjustment but very positive).
What is something that surprised you
about NYU?
Something that surprised me and excites me still is that you can make friends literally anywhere you go..I just traded info with a girl who complimented my outfit in the coffee line at the business school and we are going to study together this afternoon maybe.
What are you majoring in?
I am studying art history, fashion sustainability, and politics...I have joined the consumerism, fashion, and globalism affinity group, French club, and the fine arts society.
What are you doing on the weekends?
On the weekends I will get food and go on coffee dates with friends, I go to museums such as the MET and the MoMA, and sometimes I get to attend plays on and off broadway as part of my school (NYU gets us free tickets depending on what programs you are in!)
Kate Griffor at
New York University!
What did UniVarsity Help You With?
University helped me so much with making sure I am applying to places where I know I will find a piece of belonging..I was able to work with them to understand what kind of environment I will thrive in. Its been successful so far!
Fun fact you’ve learned about NYU?
Fun facts about NYU are that we have 6 or 7 dining halls, NYU also owns 110 properties in Manhattan!
